Dragons' Den First Semester Week 6: Campus Donations

I feel very grateful about the people who donate money and supplies to San Pasqual Academy because it shows that they care for kids like us and that we don’t have to use old supplies that are on the verge of breaking because we used them for so long. And when they donate things like the football field it makes me feel thankful because if it wasn’t for them the whole team would have to go all the way to Romana for home games but now that we have a field on campus we don’t have to travel that far. I also feel grateful because if the people who donated thing to us didn’t care then we wouldn’t have the proms that we have every year, and we wouldn’t have most of the campus because this whole campus was built off of donations people gave to SPA.

Academic Language Practice Paragaph 6

Undocumented immigrates shouldn’t be given citizenship because it’s not fair that regular citizens have to work hard and pay taxes when they could just come here and not have to pay taxes like everybody else. Its also not fair because some people that are looking really hard for a job gets their opportunity taken away by someone that comes to California by illegal SEQUENCES. Also if a citizen gets pulled over by a police officer they are asked to give their license and registration to VERIFY their identity but if an illegal citizen is asked they can give it to the officer without worrying because they could get a license and ID in the state of California. One last reason undocumented immigrants shouldn’t be given citizenship is because they could just come here and SIMPLY be named a citizen when a lot of people are trying their best to be named a legal citizen.

"Two Kinds" Jing-Mei's Shoes Paragraph

If someone was pushing me to become a prodigy piano player I would feel overwhelmed. I would react as if at first I liked the lessons but if I truly didn’t want to be a piano player I would stop going to the lesson because I know suck and it’s not my thing. I would tell the person that I will go and try it out. And after a couple of days of going if I liked the lessons I would g but if I didn’t like the lessons I would drop out. And if I do drop out I would tell the person that I was sorry and it wasn’t my thing. Becoming a prodigy would sort of help me because I would be doing something I like and something I’m really good at. But it would also harm me because it would make me feel like I’m letting people down by not being what they wanted me to be.

"two kinds" something you didnt want to do

I was in an alley behind my cousin’s house. We were playing with fire works and cherry bombs and he decided to get the idea of put cherry bombs and other fireworks in a glass bottle and throw them in the neighbor’s back yard. The problem was I didn’t think he would have me throw the bottle over the gate I expected him to do it because he came up with the idea. At first I felt scared because I thought the neighbor might be right there and when I threw the bottle he would come out and catch us. But after everything I ended up throwing the bottle over the fence because I couldn’t handle pure pressure that good. I felt kind of ashamed because the bottle exploded and shattered all over his back yard.

Academic Language Practice Paragaph 5

Vaccinations should be required for all children because some parents and cautious about their Childs health in a POSITIVE way, so a parent might want to give their child vaccines just to be safe. Another reason vaccines should be required is because if a kid doesn’t get a vaccine ESTIMATE how many schools the child will get enrolled in. One last reason vaccines should be required is because if a child doesn’t get a vaccine when they are little and their parents try and enroll them in school they wont be able to get in because they didn’t get the proper vaccines and how does that ILLUSTRATE the parent

"Everyday Use" Before You Read: Tradition

Fifteen years from now, I will wake my kids up early in the morning on Christmas day and tell them that Santa left presents for them under the tree. This tradition involves me wrapping the kids gifts when they are sleeping and when I’m done put them under the tree early in the morning before they wake up. One of my happy memories of this tradition is that my dad and grandma did this for me and my brother, and when we woke up we were super excited to open our presents that we just ripped open the gift wrap to see what was inside. I will share this with my children by doing the same thing my dad and grandma did. By sharing this tradition with the future generation, I hope that my kids will do the same with their children and so on and so forth.
