"Two Kinds" Jing-Mei's Shoes Paragraph

If someone was pushing me to become a prodigy piano player I would feel overwhelmed. I would react as if at first I liked the lessons but if I truly didn’t want to be a piano player I would stop going to the lesson because I know suck and it’s not my thing. I would tell the person that I will go and try it out. And after a couple of days of going if I liked the lessons I would g but if I didn’t like the lessons I would drop out. And if I do drop out I would tell the person that I was sorry and it wasn’t my thing. Becoming a prodigy would sort of help me because I would be doing something I like and something I’m really good at. But it would also harm me because it would make me feel like I’m letting people down by not being what they wanted me to be.

"Everyday Use" Before You Read: Tradition

Fifteen years from now, I will wake my kids up early in the morning on Christmas day and tell them that Santa left presents for them under the tree. This tradition involves me wrapping the kids gifts when they are sleeping and when I’m done put them under the tree early in the morning before they wake up. One of my happy memories of this tradition is that my dad and grandma did this for me and my brother, and when we woke up we were super excited to open our presents that we just ripped open the gift wrap to see what was inside. I will share this with my children by doing the same thing my dad and grandma did. By sharing this tradition with the future generation, I hope that my kids will do the same with their children and so on and so forth.

Dragons' Den First Semester Week 5: Life Lesson

A life lesson I learned the hard way is what comes around goes around but twice as worse. I used to think smacking my little cousins and brother in the back of their heads every time we played tag would be funny so I would smack them super hard and then I would laugh at them.  Then one day when we were playing I was looking for my cousin because he was it all of a sudden I felt a really hard thump on the back of my head and I fell to the floor grabbing my head and it turns out my little cousin grabbed a dictionary that was on the shelf and smacked my in the head with it as hard as he could and laughed at me. Now I know every time I do something to someone be careful because it might happen to me but worse.

Dragons den power outage

On Thursday evening, I was out front watching the football team practice when suddenly someone told me that the volleyball team was playing in the gym without lights. In response I said why and I was then told that the power was shut off. Then I went to the gym because I had to work in the snack bar and saw that they were really playing in the dark. Later on I went home and was told that there is something going on in the café because the lights went out. When the power came back on, I woke up because before I went to sleep I turned my light switch on but forgot the power was out so while I was asleep the lights turned on and woke me up
