SS3 JCCS Academic Language Written Assessment
Plastic bags should not be banned. One reason is because Some people use plastic bags for other TECHNIQUES like using them for trash cans or holding their dirty clothes. Another reason is because they make it more easier for grocery baggers to ACCESS the bag to put the items in. Additionally plastic bags are a VALID way of saving money because plastic bags can be used for many resources. In conclusion that is why plastic bags should not be banned.

Lord of the Flies - Before You Read - Power Struggle
Whenever a group of people live together, will there be a struggle for power? Yes there will be a struggle for power for example if a certain half of people think it’s not fair that someone else is leader then they are going to complain and argue with the other group of people that think it’s good that the other person is a good ruler. In addition there is always a group of people of one person that doesn’t agree with someone else’s decision so of course they are going to struggle for power. Also if they think they can take power over the leader then they could try like other people in different groups because in any group there is always a struggle for power no matter what group it is. People tend to argue with others if they think someone made a bad decision so no matter what there will always be a struggle for power in any group.

Portfolio - Improvement
Over the past two years, I have improved in some academic courses, as well as maturing into a young man. My writing skills were in need of much improvement during most of my middle school career; do to being in sixteen different schools my whole life. My skills improved because I got to learn basic writing skills by being in the same school for being in the same school for more than one year. My reading skills were lacking because I didn’t like to read and where I was living it was not emphasized heavily. Now they have improved greatly due to the fact I have been introduced to more books, and exposed to other great ways of learning. Before high school my speaking skills were nonexistent because I had a hard time expressing myself, and when I did it came out poorly. Now I can verbalize more appropriately and keep my emotions in check. My group work skills were immature, and attention seeking. But now during group time I listen, and observe appropriately. My pre high technology skills were not that good because we didn't use computers at my middle school. Now my technology skills are good because I got to work on computers the majority of time in classes so I'm more familiar with computers and other technology things. In order to improve my academic and other skills for the future years I will ask for help when it is needed and I will complete the assignments that are worth a lot of points to help my grade.

End of Year Reflection – Greatest High School Obstacle
The biggest obstical I encountered happened when I was in 9th grade, and I was living at San Pasqual Academy. It was the biggest obstical of mine because I was starting high school and my brother was coming in and out of my life and so was my mom. I felt kind of overwhelmed because my brother would be with me for a couple of week but then he would do something to get in trouble and finally got kicked out. On the other hand my mom would come and visit me once a month and then all of a sudden she just stopped visiting me until she finally called my house and told me that she moves out of state, now she is living in a state called Maine. The obsitcal changed me because it taught me how to be strong and it also taught me how to be independent because I used to depend on my brother or mom to be there for me but when they both left I learned how to count on myself. The reason it made me feel strong is because I felt like I was an only child and its kind of hard seeing people with siblings because it makes you feel different, but like a famous rapper named Tupac said " Sometimes being an only child makes you stronger."

JCCS Academic Language Written Assessment Week 29 Practice Paragraph / REAL TEST
Parents should face jail time for missing their child's school conference. One reason is if their student is kicked out of school and is roaming the streets of a dangerous community the parents wouldn't know because they never attened the meeting so they couldn't SEEK the help their child needed to stay in school. Another reason is if their child is using illegal RESOURCES for their school project and get the school in trouble the parents would have to deal with the issue. Additionally if the parent doesn't have time to attend the meeting the teacher should take it upon themselves and TRANSFER all the information about their childs behavior so the know how their kid is doing. So those are my reasons why parents should face jail time for not attending their childs school meeting.

Homonyms Practice Blog Paragraph
I grabbed my stuff and ran towards THEIR football field. THEIR field was very nice, it had so many football stands. THEIR favorite part of the field was the center because it had their logo in the middle. THEIR rival school has a field just like that one but with a different logo. Maybe THEIR team will play against their rivals tonight or Friday night. THEY'RE hoping to win this game because THEIR rival team is very competitive and dirty. I asked them, whats YOUR teams strength? and they said that THEIR team is much faster and stronger. I asked if THEY'RE going to win the game and everyone screamed out yes. I replied "Then go out THERE and give them all you've got".
